Understanding the Three Engine Modes
AntiXray offers three engine modes that control how ore obfuscation works. Mode 1 replaces fully obscured blocks with fake ones, meaning any valuable ore completely hidden from view gets swapped. Mode 2 randomizes both the hidden blocks and their replacements, creating better camouflage that is harder to detect patterns in. Mode 3 is recommended for most servers because it is optimized for slow connections and produces more realistic results.
Changing the Engine Mode
Open your AntiXray configuration file, typically found in your server's config directory. Locate the engine mode setting and change the value to your preferred mode. If your server has players on slower connections or you want the most natural-looking obfuscation, set it to Mode 3. After saving the file, restart your server for changes to take effect.
Testing Your Configuration
After restarting, join your server and mine in a straight line toward known ore locations. You should see fake blocks appearing where real ores are hidden. If legitimate players report seeing strange block behavior during normal mining, consider adjusting your detection radius or max obfuscation height settings. These control how far from a player blocks get obfuscated and how high up obfuscation applies. Lower values reduce the chance of visible artifacts while still blocking Xray users.
