Equipping Full Coal Armor

Coal armor provides iron-level protection with 400 durability per piece. Craft a complete set—helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots—using coal and charcoal at a crafting table.

Activating Fire Immunity

Equip all four pieces of coal armor simultaneously to gain total immunity to fire and lava damage. This protection is instant and requires the full set; partial armor won't grant the benefit. You can now walk through lava, stand in fire, and survive falls into hazards without taking damage.

Important Durability Note

Fire immunity comes at a cost: wearing the full set causes rapid durability loss over time, even when you're not taking damage. Coal armor cannot be repaired using anvils or the Mending enchantment, so plan your fire-immunity trips carefully. Once durability reaches zero, the armor breaks and must be replaced. Use this protection strategically for dangerous situations rather than constant wear.
