Gathering Materials

Coal gear requires coal and charcoal as primary ingredients. Coal is found underground or obtained by smelting logs. Charcoal is created by smelting wood logs in a furnace, or more efficiently, by using a coal axe on logs to convert them directly into charcoal.

Crafting Armor and Tools

Combine coal and charcoal at a standard crafting table to create your desired items. The mod provides full armor sets (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) and a complete tool suite (sword, axe, pickaxe, shovel, hoe). Each piece requires specific arrangements of coal and charcoal blocks.

Early Game Advantage

Coal gear is accessible early in survival because both materials are readily available. This gives you iron-level armor protection and powerful tools before you need to find diamonds or set up complex mining operations. Use coal tools to accelerate resource gathering, then transition to better gear as you progress.
