Begin by crafting a Paleontology Toolkit and the Paleonomicon guidebook. Search caves and stone areas for buried fossil blocks. When you find one, interact with it to start the excavation minigame—you must carefully extract the fragile fossil before the timer expires using your specialized tools.

Once extracted, fossils can be studied or used as ritual components. However, time fractures naturally spawn in your world, releasing dangerous abominations. Defeat these creatures to collect additional ritual parts. With enough components gathered, construct a summoning altar and perform a time ritual to bring extinct creatures into your world. Summon pairs of the same species to breed them and establish your own prehistoric sanctuary.
