How to Mine Netherite Safely in Amplified Terrain
Prepare Before You Dig
In the Amplified Nether, the floor is often far below where you spawn, and lava is everywhere. Before hunting ancient debris, gather a diamond or better pickaxe, plenty of blocks, fire resistance potions if you have them, and food. Do not start a mining trip without a way to bridge over lava.
Choose Your Depth
Ancient debris generates in the lower reaches of the Nether. Because this mod raises the ceiling dramatically, the distance between the top of the world and the debris layer is much larger than in vanilla. That means you should descend deliberately rather than digging randomly. Find a safe ledge, then tunnel downward in a controlled staircase so you always have a way back up.
Mine Efficiently
1. Dig a long horizontal tunnel at your chosen depth and branch off it at intervals.
2. Watch for lava pockets — in amplified terrain they can be larger and more sudden. Place a block in front of you before breaking the next one when you suspect a cavity.
3. Use beds or TNT only if you understand the blast risk in tight tunnels; a controlled explosion can expose debris but may also open a lava flow.
4. Carry your debris straight back to your shelter rather than continuing to explore, so a single death does not cost you the whole haul.
