Forge Your First Metal Tool from Raw Ore
Prepare Your Ore and Workspace
Mine raw ore from realistic geological veins scattered throughout your world. You'll need a
fire pit, stone anvil, wooden clips, and fuel (wood or charcoal work well). Set up your fire pit near your anvil for efficient workflow.
Heat and Shape the Metal
1. Place fuel into the fire pit and ignite it
2. Put your raw metal blank into the fire pit to soften it
3. Once heated, hold a wooden clip in your off-hand to safely extract the hot blank without taking burn damage
4. Immediately place the hot metal onto your stone anvil
5. Use your hammer to strike the metal through multiple forging stages—each stage stretches, bends, slots, or carves the metal into shape
6. Watch for spark and smoke particles; these indicate successful hammering
7. Repeat heating and hammering until your tool reaches its final form
Finishing Touches
Once shaped, let the metal cool naturally. Your forged tool is now ready to use. Different tool types require different numbers of forging stages, so patience and repetition are key to mastering the craft.
