Using the Aimz Crosshair for Better Bow and Crossbow Aim

The Aimz reticle is built around a small central gap, which makes it easier to judge where an arrow will actually land compared to the thick vanilla crosshair. Getting the most out of it means understanding how it lines up with projectile drop.

Aiming at Range

  • The center of the reticle is still your true aim point. The surrounding lines are visual guides, not a rangefinder.
  • For long shots, aim slightly above the target to compensate for arrow drop. The open center makes it easier to see the target while you hold that offset.
  • When leading a moving mob or player, keep the target inside the reticle gap rather than under the center dot.

Practical Drills

1. Place a target block or a wall of blocks at a distance you find challenging.

2. Fire a few arrows and note where they land relative to the reticle center.

3. Adjust your hold-over until shots group consistently.

4. Repeat at a closer and a farther distance to build a feel for the drop.

Because the reticle is less cluttered, it also helps with crossbow quick-charging in close fights, where you need to track a strafing opponent without the crosshair covering them.
