Set Up Your First Crop Farm
Gathering Seeds
Start by breaking tall grass in any biome to collect
rice seeds—this is the easiest crop to farm early game. Search village chests and dungeon loot for
tomato seeds as a secondary option. If you have a Sniffer, let it dig in dirt or grass blocks to uncover
Ancient Fruit seeds.
Planting and Growing
Rice crops grow best when planted near water, similar to vanilla wheat. Place your seeds on farmland adjacent to water blocks. Tomatoes and Ancient Fruit follow standard crop mechanics and will progress through growth stages before reaching maturity.
Harvest fully grown crops by breaking them—you'll collect both the produce and seeds for replanting. Plant enough seeds to sustain both eating and replanting; aim for at least a small 5×5 patch per crop type.
Scaling Up
Once established, expand your farm by replanting collected seeds. Use bone meal to speed up growth if you have it available. Consider organizing crops by type in separate sections for easier harvesting and replanting cycles.
