Fixing Common Placement Problems with Additional Placements
When a Block Will Not Place
The most frequent issue is aiming at the wrong face. The mod expands valid faces, but it still requires a solid target and an empty destination space.
Troubleshooting Checklist
1. Check the target face. Aim directly at the side or bottom face you want to attach to. If you aim at the top, you get vanilla behavior.
2. Check for obstruction. If another block, entity, or plant occupies the destination, placement fails. Clear it first.
3. Check block compatibility. Not every block supports every attachment face. Full solid blocks are the most reliable targets; partial blocks like fences, walls, and panes may reject some placements.
4. Check your aim distance. Standing too far away can cause the game to target a different block than intended. Step closer.
5. Check for interaction conflicts. Functional blocks such as doors, chests, and buttons may consume your right-click. Sneak to bypass their interaction and place your block instead.
Orientation Surprises
Sometimes a block places but faces a direction you did not expect. This usually happens because the game orients the block relative to the face you clicked. Re-aim at a different face to change the result, or break and replace while targeting the correct surface.
General Advice
Practice on a creative test wall before applying the technique to a survival build. Once you learn how each block type responds to side and bottom placement, the process becomes intuitive.
