Sometimes you install the mod and still find yourself stuck at a block. Work through these checks before assuming something is broken.

Confirm the Mod Is Active

Open your mods list and verify the mod appears and is enabled for the profile you launched. If you switched profiles or updated your game, the mod may not be loaded in the world you are testing. Load into a fresh test world and try walking into a single placed block.

Check Your Step Height Setting

If the config value is at or below the vanilla default, you will not notice any difference. Open the config file and raise the step height entry, save, and reload. Change it in small increments and retest, because an extremely high value can cause odd climbing behavior rather than smooth stepping.

Rule Out the Block Type

Not every block is steppable. Fences, walls, and other shapes that are not a full block tall will still stop you, and that is intended. Try a plain full block like dirt or stone to confirm the mod works, then compare with the block that was blocking you.

Conflicts

If another movement mod overrides step height, the two can fight each other. Temporarily disable other movement-altering mods and retest to isolate the cause.
