How to Tell If Accelerated Decay Is Working Correctly
The Expected Behavior
When the mod is active, breaking the final log of a tree should remove all connected leaves at once. You should not see the familiar vanilla sequence where leaves turn slightly transparent, then disappear one by one over a few seconds. Instead the canopy is simply gone.
Quick Checks
1. Find a small tree with a clear trunk.
2. Break every log block in the trunk.
3. Watch the leaves the moment the last log breaks.
If the leaves vanish immediately, the mod is working. If they fade gradually, something is preventing the trigger.
Common Reasons It Seems Not to Work
- A log is still present. Branches, buried trunk blocks, or logs hidden behind leaves all count as support. The canopy will not clear until every one is gone.
- You are looking at a different tree's leaves. Leaves from a neighboring tree that still has logs will remain.
- The leaves are not actually connected to the tree you felled. Floating leaf clusters from earlier builds or world generation may behave differently.
If you have confirmed no logs remain and leaves still decay slowly, check that the mod is loaded for the world you are playing, since mods are applied per instance or per server.
