How to Make Leaves Disappear Instantly When Chopping a Tree

Break the Last Supporting Log

Accelerated Decay does not require any keybind, tool, or configuration to trigger. The mod watches for the moment a tree loses its final supporting log block. Once that happens, every leaf block still connected to that tree is removed in the same tick, so you never see the slow vanilla decay animation.

To use it, simply chop a tree the way you normally would:

1. Break the trunk logs from the bottom up (or any order you prefer).

2. Keep going until the last log that was holding the canopy in place is gone.

3. Watch the leaves vanish immediately rather than fading over several seconds.

What Counts as the Last Log

Only the final log matters. If even one log block of the tree is still placed, the leaves stay. This means partial chopping, leaving a stump, or breaking only the lower trunk will not trigger the effect. Clear the whole trunk and the canopy clears with it.

If leaves are not disappearing, the usual cause is a leftover log you missed, such as a branch, a buried trunk block, or a log hidden behind foliage. Break that remaining log and the leaves will clear.
