How to Clear Leaves Without Chopping the Whole Tree
The Mod Only Reacts to Logs
Accelerated Decay is triggered by log removal, not by leaves themselves. If you want a canopy gone but do not want to fell the tree, you cannot rely on the mod's instant removal directly, because the supporting logs are still present.
Options That Work
- Break the logs anyway. If you want the leaves gone instantly, removing the trunk is the reliable trigger. You can replant a sapling afterward.
- Use shears or a hoe on the leaves manually if you want to keep the tree standing. The mod does not change how leaf blocks behave when you break them yourself; it only changes what happens after the last log is gone.
- Remove leaves with fire or other in-game means if that suits your build. The mod does not interfere with those methods.
Things to Avoid
Do not expect the mod to clear a canopy while a log remains. Leaving a single trunk block, even one hidden inside the foliage, keeps the whole leaf set in place. If you are trying to clear a specific area, locate and break every log first, then the leaves will clear in one step.
This makes the mod predictable: logs are the switch, leaves are the result.
