Upgrade Netherite Gear at the Smithing Table

Finding the Upgrade Template

Travel to End Cities and search the loot chests for an Abyssal Core upgrade template. This is a one-time find—you can duplicate it for future upgrades.

Duplicating the Template

Place your template in a smithing table with End Stone and a Netherite ingot to create a copy. This lets you upgrade multiple items without finding new templates.

Upgrading Your Gear

At the smithing table, combine:

• Your Netherite tool, weapon, or armor piece
• The upgrade template
• One Abyssal Core ingot

The smithing table will output your upgraded Abyssal Core version with all new abilities unlocked.

What Gets Upgraded

You can upgrade swords, axes, pickaxes, shovels, hoes, spears, full armor sets, and horse armor. Each piece gains unique active abilities once upgraded.
