How to Set Up the Zoom Key and Adjust Zoom Levels in Aaron's Mod

Aaron's Mod includes a built-in zoom feature bound to C by default, similar to what OptiFine offers but without needing that mod. You can change the key and tune how far the zoom pulls in.

Changing the Zoom Key

Go to Options → Controls → Key Binds and search for the Aaron's Mod category. Find the zoom binding (default C) and click it, then press the key you want. Avoid keys already used for sprint, sneak, or drop. If you use C for something else in another mod, rebinding here prevents conflicts.

Adjusting Zoom Strength

Open the mod's config screen and look for the Zoom section. You will find options to increase and decrease the zoom level. Rather than a single fixed magnification, the mod lets you pick how tight the zoom is. Increase it for long-distance spotting (finding islands, scanning terrain); decrease it for a gentler zoom that keeps more context on screen. Some setups also allow a scroll-wheel adjustment while zooming, letting you fine-tune on the fly.

Using Zoom in Practice

Hold the zoom key to zoom in and release to snap back. This is ideal for Skyblock players scanning for distant islands or checking mob positions before bridging. If zoom feels too jarring, lower the strength rather than changing the key.
