How to Enable FPS Display, Extra Debug Info, and Hide the Fire Overlay

Aaron's Mod bundles several quality-of-life HUD tweaks that vanilla players usually install separate mods for. Here is how to turn on the useful ones and clean up the annoying ones.

Showing FPS and Extra Debug Info

Open the mod config and find the Vanilla section. Enable FPS Display to show your framerate on screen without opening the F3 debug screen. If you want more than just FPS, enable Extra Debug Info — this adds additional readouts to the debug overlay so you get more detail than vanilla's F3 provides. Both can run at the same time. Position and formatting are handled by the mod; if the FPS counter overlaps another HUD element, check your other mods' HUD settings for conflicts.

Hiding the Fire Overlay

When you catch fire in vanilla, a large flame texture covers most of your screen and obscures your view. In the config, enable Hide Fire Overlay to remove it. You will still take fire damage and still see the burning animation on your player model — only the screen-covering overlay is gone. This is especially useful in the Nether or when fighting blazes.

Hiding Mob Spawner Animations

In the same section, enable Hide Mob Spawner Animations to stop the spinning miniature mob inside spawner blocks. This reduces visual clutter in mob farms and dungeons without affecting spawner function.
