Fixing Ladders That Still Look Flat After Installing the Pack

Check Load Order First

A resource pack only replaces files it actually contains. If a higher-priority pack also ships a ladder model or texture, yours gets ignored. Open your resource pack list and drag this pack above any pack that changes ladders, then confirm the change and let the game reload.

Rule Out Other Causes

  • Make sure the pack is actually enabled, not just present in the folder. The pack selection screen shows a green check or arrow when active.
  • If you use a mod that changes ladder rendering or adds custom ladder blocks, those blocks may keep their own models. Vanilla ladders will still change; modded ones may not.
  • Shaders and lighting mods do not remove the 3D model, but heavy shading can flatten how the depth reads. Test with shaders off to confirm the model is there.
  • If only some ladders look wrong, you are likely looking at a modded ladder variant rather than the vanilla block.

Reload Properly

After reordering, press the reload option in the resource pack screen or restart the client. Texture and model changes sometimes need a full reload to take effect, especially if you swapped packs while in a world.
