Craft a basic laser using meteoric materials and place it near your base to begin defending against incoming meteors. You can find your first meteoric chunks by exploring impact craters that spawn naturally in your world, or wait for a meteor to fall and mine the hot rocks it leaves behind.

Throw snowballs at hot meteoric rocks to cool them down through the heat stages until they reach normal temperature, then mine safely. Alternatively, use echo shards to lock a rock's temperature in place before mining, which prevents it from cooling or heating further.

Place a laser tower near your base and it will automatically shoot down incoming meteors within its protection range. Hold a Focusing Lens to see the exact defense boundary around your laser, and upgrade to an advanced laser for greater range and faster cooldown.

Meteors fall randomly across your world, but you can prepare by building laser defenses across your base and important structures. During meteor shower events, meteors may come in waves or directional patterns, giving you a brief window to anticipate impacts.
