How do I turn on Simply Super Shaders?
Open Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs, click Simply Super Shaders in the list, then click Apply or Done. If it isn't listed, put the pack's .zip file in your shaderpacks folder without unzipping it.
Do I need Iris or OptiFine to use this?
Yes. Simply Super Shaders is a shader pack, so you need a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine installed. Without one, the game has no Shader Packs menu and the pack does nothing.
Does Simply Super Shaders change how blocks look?
No. It keeps the original block appearance and only changes the world's lighting, shadows, water and sky. Your resource packs will still show through normally.
Does the server need Simply Super Shaders installed too?
No. It runs only on your own client and changes only what you see. You can use it on any server, and other players won't need it or notice it.
I selected the shader but my game still looks vanilla, what's wrong?
Make sure the pack is still a .zip and wasn't extracted into a folder, and that you clicked Apply after selecting it. If you use Iris, also check that you haven't switched shaders off with the toggle-shaders keybind.
My FPS dropped a lot after turning it on, how do I fix it?
Shaders put extra load on your graphics card, so start by lowering your render distance. If that isn't enough, open the shader's options from the Shader Packs screen and turn down shadow and quality settings, if the pack provides them.
Why doesn't this look as dark or realistic as other shader packs?
That's intentional. Simply Super Shaders recreates the bright, clean look of the official animated trailers, with warm sunlight, soft shadows and clear skies, instead of a gritty realistic style.
Is this the same as Super Duper Vanilla?
It builds on the classic Super Duper Vanilla style but is its own pack, tuned toward the trailer and promo-banner look. You can only have one shader pack active at a time, so pick whichever look you prefer.
How do I get screenshots that look like the official trailers?
Shoot during the day in clear weather so the warm sunlight and clear sky show at their best, and press F1 to hide the HUD. Water and colorful biomes make good backdrops because the pack gives them clean surfaces and bright colors.
Why do my builds look flat at night with this shader?
The pack adds soft illumination to light-emitting blocks, so place your light sources where they spread glow across walls and paths instead of clustering them in one spot. Spacing lights around a build gives it the warm, welcoming look the shader is designed for.
