OZZA Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on OZZA Shaders?
Open Options, go to Video Settings, then Shader Packs, select OZZA Shaders from the list, and click Done. The world reloads with the new lighting once the pack is applied.
How can I tell if OZZA Shaders is actually working?
Walk into the daytime and look for soft shadows under trees and hills, a brighter and cleaner overall light, and water that reflects the sky and shows gentle waves. If the world looks exactly like vanilla, the pack isn't active, so go back to the Shader Packs menu and make sure OZZA is selected rather than "Off" or "None".
Why can't I see any shadows with OZZA?
Shadows come from the sun, so they're easiest to see during the day under trees, hills, and overhanging parts of your builds. At night or deep underground there's little direct light to cast them, so check again outside in daylight.
How do I get the best shadows on my builds for screenshots?
Add overhangs, roof edges, balconies, or nearby trees so OZZA has something to cast soft shadows onto. Shoot in daylight when the sun is off to one side, because that angle makes the shadows stretch across walls and the ground.
My water doesn't look any different, what's wrong?
OZZA's water reflects the sky, so the effect shows best on open water under a clear sky, viewed at a low angle rather than straight down. Small puddles or water hidden under a roof won't show much reflection, but the transparency and subtle waves should still be visible.
Will OZZA Shaders lag my game?
OZZA is built to keep frame rates smooth, so most players shouldn't see heavy lag. If your FPS still drops, lower your render distance in Video Settings, since that takes a big load off your computer while keeping the shader effects.
Does OZZA work in every biome?
Yes, the brighter lighting applies across all biomes, and the shadows, water, and sky changes show up wherever those elements appear. Forests and hilly areas show off the shadows best, while oceans and lakes are the best places to see the water effects.
Does OZZA change the night sky too?
Yes, it refreshes both daytime and nighttime skies with clearer color tones, so nights look different from vanilla as well as days. Watch a sunset into night to see the full change.
Can I use OZZA on a multiplayer server?
Yes. Shaders only run on your own client, so you can use OZZA on any server without the server needing anything installed. Other players won't see your shader effects unless they're running it themselves.
Can I run OZZA together with another shader pack?
No, only one shader pack can be active at a time, so selecting a different pack in the Shader Packs menu replaces OZZA. Resource packs that change textures can still be used alongside it.
