StriderZ Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why aren't my striders looking zombified in the Overworld?
You need either OptiFine or Entity Texture Features installed to display the custom textures. Without one of these mods, the game won't load the zombified skins even though StriderZ is active.
Do zombified striders behave differently than normal striders?
No, zombified striders have identical behavior and AI to regular striders. StriderZ only changes how they look, not how they act.
Can I use StriderZ with animation mods?
Yes, StriderZ is designed to work alongside animation mods like Fresh Animations right out of the box, giving the zombified striders extra visual life.
What happens to striders when they go back into the Nether?
Striders will revert to their normal appearance when they return to the Nether, just like how piglins and hoglins transform back to their living forms.
Are baby striders also zombified?
Yes, baby striders get their own custom undead skin when in the Overworld, separate from the adult strider texture.
What's the skeleton strider variant and how rare is it?
The skeleton strider is a rare variant that appears as a strider made entirely of bare bones. It's a special look that can appear on striders in the Overworld.
Does StriderZ work on servers?
Resource packs are client-side only, so you need to install StriderZ locally on your game client. Server players won't see the zombified textures unless they also have the pack installed.
Will StriderZ cause lag or performance issues?
StriderZ is purely a texture pack with no gameplay changes, so it has minimal performance impact beyond the standard cost of loading custom textures.
Can I use StriderZ with other resource packs?
Yes, but resource pack load order matters. Place StriderZ higher in your pack list than other packs that modify strider textures to ensure its textures take priority.
Do cold striders get a special zombified look?
Yes, StriderZ includes a custom undead skin specifically for cold striders, giving them a distinct appearance from regular zombified striders.
