Remo’s Shield Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the rounded shield?
Open Options > Resource Packs, find Remo's Shield Resource Pack in the Available list, and click the arrow to move it to the Selected side. Click Done, then hold a shield to check the new rounded model.
Why does my shield still look boxy after enabling the pack?
Another selected resource pack that also changes the shield is probably placed above it and overriding it. In the Resource Packs menu, move Remo's Shield Resource Pack to the top of the Selected list and click Done.
Does the rounded shield block better or last longer?
No. This is a resource pack, so it only changes how the shield looks. Blocking, durability and all other shield behavior stay exactly the same as vanilla.
Can my friends see my rounded shield in multiplayer?
Only if they have the pack enabled too. Resource packs change visuals on your own screen, so players without it will see your shield as the normal vanilla model.
Does the server need this pack installed?
No, it works entirely on your client and you can use it on any server. However, a resource pack that the server requires or sends you may take priority over it for the shield.
Does the shield look different when I'm actively blocking?
Yes. The pack includes custom visuals for the blocking pose, so the rounded design stays consistent when you raise the shield to block attacks, not just when it's idle in your hand.
Does it work in third person view as well as first person?
Yes. The rounded shape appears in first person, and also in third person when you hold or block with the shield, including during combat.
Will this pack cause lag or lower my FPS?
It only swaps the shield's model and visuals, so the performance impact should be negligible. If you notice slowdowns, check your other packs or mods first.
Can I use it alongside my other resource packs?
Yes. Packs that don't touch the shield won't conflict with it. If another pack also changes the shield, whichever is higher in the Selected list wins, so order them according to which shield look you want.
How do I switch back to the vanilla shield?
Go to Options > Resource Packs, move Remo's Shield Resource Pack from Selected back to Available, and click Done. The standard boxy shield returns right away, and nothing in your world is affected.
