How the Mod Speeds Up Jigsaw Generation
Structure Layout Optimizer targets a specific bottleneck in Minecraft's Jigsaw structure generation: the way vanilla checks whether structure pieces overlap. Normally, each piece's VoxelShape is compared vertex by vertex against others, which becomes slow when many pieces are involved.
This mod replaces that VoxelShape with a dummy version backed by a BoxOctree. Instead of testing every vertex, the BoxOctree only checks intersections against neighboring pieces. Because distant pieces are ignored, validation time drops sharply, which matters most for large or recursive Jigsaw structures.
The mod also skips checks for Jigsaw Blocks that are blocked or facing a boundary, avoiding wasted CPU work.
The practical effect is smoother generation of massive structures with less lag during world generation. No configuration or new items are involved; the improvement happens automatically wherever Jigsaw structures are assembled.
