What's the difference between my real name and my roleplay nickname?
Your real name is your Minecraft username, while your roleplay nickname is a custom name you set that appears in chat, above your head, and in private messages. Only players within proximity will see your nametag if nametag hiding is enabled, but your roleplay nickname displays regardless.
How do I hide my nametag so other players can't see my name?
Use `/rpessentials config set hideNametags true` to enable proximity-based nametag hiding. Your nametag will only be visible to players standing close to you; those farther away will see a blurred or hidden nametag instead.
Can I use dice rolls outside of roleplay events?
Yes, you can use `/roll ` anytime in chat—just type the dice notation like `/roll d20` or `/roll d6`. The result is public in chat, so it works for any situation where you need a random outcome.
Can staff see my roleplay nickname and character data?
Yes, server staff can inspect your player profile and view your character statistics, playtime, warnings, and active licenses through the mod's moderation tools. They can also add notes to your profile for record-keeping.
What happens to my character data if I leave the server?
Your character profile, playtime, licenses, and roleplay nickname are saved to the server and will persist when you rejoin. The mod tracks your connection history and total playtime across sessions.
Can I customize chat formatting or join/leave messages?
Yes, server admins can fully customize chat formatting, join announcements, and leave messages through the in-game configuration menu. You'll see these custom formats in your chat when they're enabled.
