Forge Forge Frontier Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

I just installed Forge Forge Frontier, where do I start?
Explore new territory, because the mod's 8 biomes, structures and special ores generate as you travel. Watch the advancements tab too: the mod adds 15 custom advancements that track your progress and hint at what to try next.
Do I need a new world to see the new biomes?
Biomes and ores generate when new chunks are created, so areas you already explored before installing the mod will not change. Either start a fresh world or travel far into unexplored land in your existing one.
How do I find Bever ores?
Bever ores are one of the mod's special ores, so mine and explore as you normally would and look for blocks that don't match vanilla ores. The bever biome is a sensible place to start searching, since it is themed around the same name.
I mined a diamond and something weird happened. Are there fake diamonds?
Yes. The mod deliberately adds tricky fake diamonds alongside its real ores, so not every diamond-looking block is what it seems. Check what actually lands in your inventory before you celebrate or spend it on gear.
Is there a bever dimension, and what's in it?
Yes. Alongside the bever biome there is a bever dimension that contains mysterious structures you can walk inside and explore. Bring decent gear, because the mod's new mobs and status effects can catch you off guard.
What structures can I find with this mod?
Look out for a fast food building surrounded by playground items, simple wooden houses in the wilderness, a small house on a floating cloud island, and an old abandoned house partly buried underground. Buried and floating structures are easy to miss, so check under the dirt and look up at the sky while you explore.
I keep getting strange status effects and dying to weird damage. What's going on?
The mod adds 7 new status effects and 3 new damage types, plus more than 5 new hostile mobs that can cause them. Check your active effects in the inventory screen to see what is hitting you, and back off from unfamiliar mobs until you learn how they fight.
Can I test the mod's items without grinding for them?
Yes. The mod includes cheat commands that let you try out its features quickly, so enable cheats in your world before using them. They work well for previewing the 140+ items and tools, but use a test world if you want your survival advancements to stay legitimate.
Does this mod need to be on both the server and the client?
It adds blocks, items, mobs, biomes and a dimension, so like other Forge content mods it needs to be installed on both the server and every player's client. Players without it will not be able to join properly.
Will Forge Forge Frontier lag my game or clash with other biome mods?
Most of the extra load comes from generating new terrain and structures, so expect slower chunk loading while exploring fresh land rather than in areas you have already visited. If you run other biome or world-gen mods, test them together in a new world first, since overlapping world generation is the most likely source of conflicts.
