Bloody Particles Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to run any commands after installing the data pack?
Yes—after joining your world, run `/datapack enable "file/Bloody Particles_v2"` to activate it, then `/function blood:load` to initialize the particle systems and assign yourself the tracking tag.
Why am I not seeing blood particles when I hit mobs?
Make sure you've run both `/datapack enable` and `/function blood:load` in order. If particles still don't appear, check that you have the `mostrar.sangre` tag by running `/tag @s list`—if it's missing, add it with `/tag @s add mostrar.sangre`.
Can I turn off blood particles for just one player?
Yes—run `/tag remove mostrar.sangre` to hide particles for that player, and `/tag add mostrar.sangre` to turn them back on.
Does this work with modded mobs and bosses?
The data pack includes built-in support for creatures from popular mods like Alex's Mobs, Mowzie's Mobs, Bosses of Mass Destruction, and several others listed in the supported mods section. Unsupported mods may still show generic particle effects.
Will this slow down my game during big fights?
No—the data pack is designed to run with lightweight code, so it maintains smooth performance even when many mobs are taking damage at once.
What's the difference between blood particles and mob-specific particles?
Blood particles appear when you hit living creatures like animals and zombies, while mob-specific particles are unique debris—skeletons drop bone shards, slimes splash green goo, and so on. Both are controlled by the same `mostrar.sangre` tag.
Do I need to enable this data pack on a multiplayer server?
Yes—the server owner must enable the data pack and run `/function blood:load` once. Each player can then toggle their own particle effects using the `mostrar.sangre` tag.
What happens if I remove the data pack from my world?
The particle effects will stop appearing, but no world data or player progress will be lost. You can re-enable it anytime by placing the pack back in your datapacks folder and running the setup commands again.
Can I see particles for mods that aren't on the supported list?
Unsupported mods may still trigger particle effects, but they won't be customized to match the creature's appearance—you'll see generic effects instead of mob-specific debris.
Do I need this data pack on both client and server?
The data pack must be installed on the server; clients do not need it installed separately, but they will only see particles if the server has it enabled and they have the `mostrar.sangre` tag.
