Understand Your Gun's Firing Modes
Most firearms in Ironworks Ballistics support multiple firing modes:
- Semi-automatic – one shot per trigger pull (accurate, controlled)
- Burst-fire – fires a set number of rounds per trigger pull (balanced)
- Fully automatic – continuous fire while holding trigger (high damage output)
Change Firing Mode In-Game
While holding your gun, press the designated mode-switch key (typically a hotkey like M or a right-click variant, depending on your keybinds). A HUD indicator shows your current mode. Cycle through available modes until you reach your desired setting.
Choose the Right Mode for Each Situation
Semi-automatic works best for:
- Long-range engagements
- Precise shots against distant targets
- Conserving ammunition
Burst-fire excels at:
- Medium-range combat
- Balancing accuracy with damage
Fully automatic dominates:
- Close-quarters fights
- Suppressing multiple enemies
- Quick takedowns
Switch modes mid-battle to adapt to changing enemy positions and distances. Practice cycling modes smoothly to maintain combat effectiveness.
