Begin by gathering basic materials and crafting a club or shears—these are your first tools for combat and creeper neutralization. Focus on hunting creepers early to collect their special drops, then progress toward leather crafting to make your first armor set.

Equip shears and use them on a creeper to safely disable it without triggering an explosion; this also grants you unique creeper drops. Approach from behind or the side to avoid taking damage while shearing.

Knockback only applies when you sprint-attack with melee weapons, or when using clubs, swords, bows, tridents, and crossbows—regular hits won't push mobs away. This makes combat more tactical and prevents easy mob juggling.

Leather progresses through stages: raw leather → cut leather → scoured leather → tanned leather, with each step unlocking better armor recipes. Each stage requires specific crafting steps, so follow the recipes carefully to advance your armor tier.
