Upgrades
Upgrades are items you can apply to your filing cabinets. With the exception of the Creative Upgrade, only one upgrade may be applied to a filing cabinet at any time. Upgrades are applied by rightclicking the cabinets with them in your hand. The upgrades can be removed by using a Magnifying Glass to shift+leftclick/punch the cabinet to take them out, or by breaking the filing cabinets to forcibly drop the upgrade.
Creative upgrades are uncraftable upgrades obtainable only in creative mode. When one is applied, they allow one to have infinite extraction from the folders without their quantity depleting over time.
With a crafting upgrade applied, the filing cabinet will try to autocraft whatever item is placed in the item frame, as long as the folders stored in it have the materials for it. The autocrafting happens only when it's manually extracted. Automatic extraction is not possible with the upgrade, but autoinsertion will always be possible.
When this upgrade is applied, any folders you take out of the filing cabinet will be a Ender Folder, which will automatically sync its contents to the filing cabinet it came from.
With this upgrade applied, the filing cabinet will take on oredict capabilities, storing anything that matches the oredictionary name in the folders, if possible. E.G, being able to store copper ingots of different mods in one folder, spruce wood planks in oak wood planks, and so forth. The reverse is true for extraction: If you have just oak wood in storage and you have birch wood set as the filter, you can extract birch wood.
Once this upgrade is applied, any mobs that collides with the filing cabinet will be sucked into the folder that can hold that mob, if any exists.
Giving the filing cabinet this upgrade allows it to have fluid storage capabilities for the fluid folders it can hold. Any fluid pipes or tanks that interacts with it can insert fluids whenever possible. Both manual and automatic fluid extraction is only possible with a filter. The filter is just an item frame with a bucket of the fluid you want to extract from inside the item frame. From there, automatic fluid extraction is possible, and you can fill empty buckets with the fluid by leftclicking the filing cabinet with them.
Feeding the filing cabinet this life upgrade will give it autonomous life. That is, a filing cabinet that can stand on its own feet:
By default, this filing cabinet entity will try to pick up any items or blocks dropped on the ground and store them if they are within range. After the life upgrade is applied, you can apply any of the two upgrades available to it:
- Mob Upgrade: Will run around and try to eat whatever mobs it can store into itself.
- Fluid Upgrade: Will try to slurp up whatever fluids it can store when it is within range.
When idle, the filing cabinet will return to where it was spawned, if it is too far away from it. If the filing cabinet was locked before the life upgrade was applied, it will instead follow the owner around. If one wants to turn them back into regular filing cabinet blocks, use a magnifying glass, and with it in your hand, crouch and leftclick/punch them. If they have an upgrade installed, it will remove that upgrade. Do it once more to really turn them back into a block.
With this upgrade, if the filing cabinet is able to find:
- A folder containing an item that can be smelted
- A folder containing an item that is the smelting result
- A folder containing an item that is either Coal or Charcoal for fuel
When all of these conditions are met, it will start smelting and cooking the items until it runs out of smeltable items or it runs out of fuel. Coal or Charcoal as fuel gives the same amount of smelting time as vanilla furnaces, but smelts twice as many items. More than one item can be smelted in parallel with the others, if the conditions can still be met.
Currently, in version 0.1.51, smelting progress can be seen with The One Probe.
