Pnk Ffff Reforgers

A Reforger's Workbook is an item you'll find occasionally in a Beanstalk's various chests. A workbook has durability and the number of times you can use a workbook depends on where you found it: beanstalk crown loot boxes have the best workbooks with 16 uses per book; books found in other chests will have between 2 and 8 uses.

Currently, a workbook is the only way to make requests of the FeeFiFoFum weaponsmiths associated with a beanstalk; these weaponsmiths are the ones responsible for all of the special gear and books you find within a beanstalk. We call the beanstalk weaponsmiths The Reforgers. For the reforgers, it is inconceivable that anyone but Mr. G would possess one of their workbooks, so they respond to work requests without question. Novice weaponsmiths are responsible for the adhoc reforged tools and weapons you'll find abandoned in dungeons throughout your world. Yes, they do seem to be an absent-minded bunch just leaving their stuff everywhere, but their loss is your gain as even the poorest-made Fancii Sword (used to hone their reforging skills) is as deadly as a diamond sword.
In addition to the ability to request new special weapons (Fancii Swords, Reforger Swords), you can also request a random Reforge Profile be (re)applied to your current weapon even if it's a standard item or something from another mod.
To make a request, you must prepare a regular chest with the appropriate materials for what you want done. Then close the chest, and activate it with your workbook (Sneak+RightClick). If you have provided enough basic materials, the chest will disappear and you'll receive a Reforger's Offer packet in its place. At first the packet is empty and shows only "Processing..." in its tooltip, but very shortly the reforgers will update it with what they have to offer based on the materials you provided and what they have available.

The offer includes a token price you have to pay in order to unlock and seal the offer. The price is based on an easy-to-obtain item like a feather and experience levels, the amount of which depends on the item being offered. You unlock the offer on an anvil to seal the deal. Now to unpackage the items, use or place the accepted offer packet like you would a chest item. The packet will unpack into a generated chest filled with your new goodies.
If you don't like the offer, you can just place down the offer packet without unlocking it, and the original chest and all the materials will be returned to you. Note however, even a rejected offer takes one page (use) from your workbook so be sure to double-check your materials and put on your lucky pants before making the request! Even the best workbooks have only a few pages in them.

A Reforger's Gem Remnant is an item you'll find in dungeon and beanstalk loot chests and rarely get as a drop from Stray skeletons. You can combine three (3) remnants with a beanstalk Heartworm to produce a Synthetic Reforger Gem, a special material you include when requesting a reforge operation or forming a true reforger's gem.
Include the remnant-formed synthetic gem with a request for a new fancii item made from raw materials; the gem material expands the group of weapons and skins the reforger chooses from so it includes the full set of fancii skins and the bigly swords which are not found as loot or given as advancement rewards. If you're keen to collect all the mod's swords, you'll need to collect as many remnants as you can to create synthetic gems.
Material for fancii weapons and true reforger gems
Another important use for your remnants is as a cheap repair material for many kinds of damaged items. You must do the repair with a standard anvil. Each remnant will repair the greater of 50% of the current damage or 25% of the item's total durability for 10-15 experience levels. In other words, a remnant is very good for repairing badly damaged special items, including those already heavily repaired, for a capped experience cost.

You can also use remnants in place of coupons to repair Reforger Workbooks on a crafting grid. Read the Reforge Coupon section for details.
Each remnant restores 1 page...
Remnants cannot repair some special mod items such as the Hellfire and Midas swords; you need a true reforger gem for that. Tip: before using a remnant for repairing an item, check whether the item is repairable on a Mending Table first as that way is MUUUUCH cheaper in materials and experience cost!

A true Reforger's Gem is a special material you must supply when you request any of the custom swords like the Lava Blade and the Grim Reaper or when you want to recast or replace an existing weapon with a different kind of weapon entirely. There are three different reforger gems available to represent the three skill levels of the weaponsmiths: the Apprentice's or novice Gem, the Journeyman's or professional Gem, and the Master's Gem. Read a sword's description page to see the reforger skill level a particular sword or service requires to determine the lowest tier gem you'll need to put in your materials chest.
Very very rarely you may find a true reforger's gem in a loot chest; most of the time however, you'll need to form a gem of a particular level by combining a gem of the previous skill tier with a Dark Tome tainted at the desired level on an anvil.
Step 1
You can jump-start the gem chaining with a crafted Synthetic Reforger Gem and a Dark Tome I to obtain an Apprentice Reforger's Gem. Bring lots of experience levels with you to the anvil station, you'll need them especially for the non-apprentice gems.
Step 2...etc.
the Dark Tome must match the target gem's tier
If you're having difficulty finding high level dark tomes for Master Gems, remember you can combine two tomes of the same tier to make a tome of the next tier up (so combine two level II tomes to make a level III tome).
When making a recasting request for an existing item, the reforger's gem will count towards recasting and skinning of low-grade items, or for recasting of high-grade items into a whole new item possibly of a different but equivalent material based on base attack stats. Higher grade materials are diamond or better where "better" depends on the item's type. In the case of low-grade material items (iron and equivalent), you should also provide at least one piece of fanciirite to ensure the new item is of a better quality in terms of base durability and enchantibility.
You can use a journeyman or master reforger gem on an anvil to repair normally unrepairable vanilla and mod items including some of the master reforger swords like the Hellfire sword. The base repair cost is 10 experience levels; the cost goes higher for more valuable items as determined by their durability, stats profile, and enchantments. The good news is this max cost is capped at 20 levels for a 50% improvement in the item's current damaged state.

Occasionally a reforger's package will include a "thank you" token in the form of a few iron or gold nuggets or a Reforge Coupon. You can use this coupon to reduce the unlock payment costs of a subsequent reforge offer. To use a coupon, just place it (one per request) into the main chest along with the other materials before making the reforge request with your workbook.

Another way you use a Reforge Coupon is to reduce the accumulated experience-level repair cost of a damaged item. This is particularly useful for heavily repaired items that have become too expensive to work on an anvil. The amount of the reduction depends on the current repair cost of the target item but in general it's at least 25% or as much as is needed to reduce the cost so the item becomes repairable again with one or two coupons. Note that there is a limit to this feature: you cannot use a coupon to reduce the repair cost if that cost is above 149 experience levels (use a master reforger's gem instead).
Each coupon restores 1 page...
The final way to use your coupon is to give your Reforge Workbook one more use; think of it as re-supplying a page to the workbook. On a regular crafting table, place your workbook and at least one coupon. The workbook's durability (uses) will increase by the number of placed coupons up to its max. You cannot add more coupons than is needed to bring a particular workbook back to zero uses. Note that you can substitute Gem Remnants for coupons in this crafting recipe.
