Getting Hats

The main way to collect hats is through Hat Bags.

Craft a Hat Bag of a given rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic) or a seasonal bag (Easter, Summer, Halloween, Festive).
Right-click the Hat Bag to open it. It gives you a random hat of the matching rarity or season.
Because each bag gives a random hat, collecting the full set becomes a fun long-term goal.
In Creative mode, every hat is available directly from the Simple Hats creative tab.

Wearing Hats

Managing your hat is quick and simple:

Right-click a hat in your hand to equip it into the head accessory slot. If you already wear a hat, the new one takes its place and the old one returns to your inventory.
Sneak + right-click with a hat to take off the hat you are currently wearing.
You can also run the /shequip command to equip the hat you are holding.
The hat sits in an accessory slot, so your armor helmet still works normally at the same time.

Rarities and Seasonal Hats

Hats come in several rarities and themed sets:

Rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. Rarer bags have a chance at rarer, flashier hats.
Seasonal hats: special sets tied to Easter, Summer, Halloween, and Festive (winter) themes, obtained from the matching seasonal Hat Bags.
Some hats are dyeable or have extra variants, giving even more ways to customise your look.

How Hats Look

Hats render directly on your character model. When you switch to third-person view you can see your hat on your head, and other players on a server see your hat too, so everyone can show off their style. Some hats even add small particle effects for extra flair. Because hats use an accessory slot rather than the helmet slot, they never hide or replace your armor.

Tips

Open lots of bags. Since hats are random, crafting and opening many Hat Bags is the fastest way to grow your collection.
Keep your helmet on. Hats do not use the armor slot, so wear a hat and a protective helmet at the same time.
Swap freely. Right-click any hat to instantly switch to it; the one you were wearing goes back to your inventory.
Show off in third person. Press the perspective key to admire your hat, and remember other players can see it too.
