Grand Item Displays Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the mod after installing it?
Press M to toggle the display system on or off. You'll see enlarged valuable items appear on the ground immediately when enabled. Press O to open the settings screen and customize which items should be scaled up.
Can I use this mod on multiplayer servers?
Yes, Grand Item Displays runs entirely on your client side, so it works on any multiplayer server without requiring server-side installation or permission. Other players won't see your enlarged items—only you will.
How do I stop myself from accidentally dropping my best gear?
Press L to toggle item locking on gear in your inventory. Locked items cannot be dropped, thrown, or moved out of your inventory by accident. You can lock multiple items at once and unlock them whenever you need to use or trade them.
What's the difference between the render modes and which should I use?
Vanilla shows normal items while enlarging valuable loot; Performance shrinks junk items down; Ultra Performance hides junk completely; Near Only hides junk until you walk close. Use Vanilla for clarity, Performance or Ultra Performance if you have frame rate issues around large item piles, or Near Only for a balanced middle ground.
How do I add my own custom items to be enlarged?
Press O to open the settings screen, then use the in-game menu to add custom item rules by display name, item ID, or both. You can adjust the scale for each custom item between 0.1x and 4.0x normal size.
Can I make only certain armor pieces stand out, like trimmed armor?
Yes, you can create custom rules that target specific armor types, including trimmed variants. Use the settings menu to define rules by item ID or display name so only the armor you care about gets enlarged.
Why are my frame rates dropping when there are lots of dropped items around?
Switch to Performance or Ultra Performance render mode by pressing N repeatedly. These modes reduce the number of items being rendered on screen, which significantly improves frame rates in cluttered areas.
Do I need to restart the game to change my item detection settings?
No, press B to cycle through your item detection settings or press O to open the full settings menu and make changes on the fly. All changes apply immediately without restarting.
Can I make dropped items even bigger than 4.0x scale?
The maximum scale is 4.0x normal size. If that's not large enough, you can try switching to a render mode that hides other items, which makes your enlarged loot stand out even more against empty terrain.
What happens if I lock an item but then want to drop it later?
Press L while hovering over or holding the locked item to toggle the lock off, then you can drop it normally. Locking is temporary and only prevents accidental drops—you maintain full control over when items are locked or unlocked.
