Fossils and Archeology Revival Mod — Guide
The Revival Process
Bringing a dinosaur back to life is a multi-step scientific process requiring specialized machinery and patience.

Step 1: Excavation
Players must find Fossil Ore (found between Y levels 0 and 64) or Permafrost (found in cold biomes). Mining these blocks with an iron pickaxe or better yields Bio-Fossils, Relic Scraps, or Frozen Meat.
Step 2: Analysis
Place Bio-Fossils or Frozen Meat into an Analyzer. The machine will process the remains into one of three things: 1. DNA: Used for cloning. 2. Bones: Used for crafting tools and armor. 3. Junk: Sand, gravel, or bone meal.
Step 3: Cultivation
Once DNA is obtained, it must be placed in a Culture Vat along with Bio-Goo (fuel). The vat will slowly grow an Egg (for dinosaurs/birds) or an Embryo (for mammals). Note: There is a small chance of failure, which results in the creation of a Failuresaurus.

Step 4: Hatching and Birth
- Eggs: Must be placed on the ground. Most dinosaur eggs require a specific environment (e.g., warmth or water) to hatch.
- Embryos: Must be right-clicked onto a domestic animal (like a cow or pig) to act as a surrogate mother. After a period of time, the animal will give birth to the prehistoric creature.

Archeology & The Boss Anu
Archeology focuses on the mystery of the Ancient King, Anu.
Finding Anu
- Hell Boat: Locate this structure in the Nether's lava seas.
- The Ritual: Place 4 Mysterious Figurines and 4 Redstone around the Anu Statue on the boat to open a portal to the Lair of Darkness.
- Anu's Castle: Navigate the castle, fighting Sentry Pigmen and Anubites (living statues).

The Boss Battle: Anu
Anu has 600 HP and three distinct phases: * Phase 1 (Melee): Attacks with an Ancient Sword; summons lightning. * Phase 2 (Ranged): Grows wings and flies, shooting fireballs. * Phase 3 (Defensive): Summons Blazes, Wither Skeletons, and Obsidian Spikes. He may encase himself in an obsidian dome.
Rewards: Upon death, Anu drops the Ancient Key, which grants access to The Room containing the Ancient Clock (a precursor to the Time Machine).
Prehistoric Creatures
The mod features over 60 prehistoric species, each with unique diets, temperaments, and taming requirements.
Popular Dinosaurs & Creatures
| Creature | Diet | Health (Adult) | Taming Method | Rideable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyrannosaurus | Carnivore | 100-150 | Scarab Gem (when low HP) | Yes |
| Allosaurus | Carnivore | 50-80 | Scarab Gem | Yes |
| Brachiosaurus | Herbivore | 200+ | Whip | No |
| Triceratops | Herbivore | 60-100 | Whip | Yes |
| Velociraptor | Carnivore | 20-30 | Whip | No |
| Mammoth | Herbivore | 60-100 | Whip | Yes |
| Mosasaurus | Piscivore | 80-120 | Aquatic Scarab Gem | Yes |
| Smilodon | Carnivore | 40-60 | Whip | No |

Taming and Care
- Whip: Used to tame most creatures by right-clicking them. It is also required to command tamed creatures to stay, follow, or wander.
- DinoPedia: A vital tool crafted from a Book and a Bio-Fossil. Right-clicking a creature with it displays its health, hunger, mood, and owner.
- Feeder: A block that automatically feeds nearby creatures. It has two slots: one for meat and one for plants.
- Growth: Use Chicken Essence to instantly age a creature by one day. Use Poisonous Potato Essence to permanently stop a creature's growth (keeping them as babies).

Machines & Technology
These specialized blocks are the backbone of the mod's technology.
| Block | Recipe | Function |
|---|---|---|
| Analyzer | 4 Iron, 1 Bio-Fossil, 1 Relic Scrap | Extracts DNA and items from fossils. |
| Culture Vat | 3 Iron, 4 Glass, 1 Water Bucket, 1 Slime Ball | Grows eggs and embryos from DNA. |
| Sifter | 5 Wood Planks, 3 String, 1 Iron Bar | Sifts sand/gravel for rare items like Dominican Amber. |
| Archeology Workbench | 1 Crafting Table, 1 Paper | Repairs broken ancient tools and relics using Relic Scraps. |
| Feeder | 4 Stone, 2 Iron, 1 Glass, 1 Stone Button | Automatically feeds prehistoric creatures. |

Items & Artifacts
Tools and Weapons
- Scarab Tools: Crafted from Scarab Gems; they are stronger than diamond and have high enchantability.
- Javelin: A throwable weapon. Can be crafted with wood, stone, iron, gold, or diamond heads.
- Skull Stick: Crafted with a Stick and a Prehistoric Skull. Used to command apex predators like the T-Rex.
- Tooth Dagger: A fast weapon crafted from a T-Rex tooth and a stick.

Artifacts
- Dominican Amber: A 0.2% drop from the Sifter. Used to craft the Aquatic Scarab Gem.
- Pottery Shards: Found in dig sites or via sifting. Can be restored into decorative vases (Amphora, Kylix, Volute).

Structures & Biomes
The mod adds several structures that encourage exploration:
- Dig Sites: Small tents found in various biomes containing chests, sifters, and fossil blocks.
- Academies: Large buildings filled with books, analyzers, and culture vats.
- Aztec Temples: Found in jungles; contain traps and gold blocks.
- Shipwrecks: Found underwater; contain Viking-themed loot.
- Volcano Biome: A rare biome composed of Volcanic Rock and Volcanic Ash. It is the best place to find fossils and the Paleontologist Villager.
