Machines
Most machines require energy to run you can use either RF or EU. They can be filled with almost every cable from other mods.You can see how much energy is stored by looking at the bar at the bottom of machine GUIs. In the GUI you will also see either a '+' slot or a '-' slot or both. The '+' allows you discharge items which contain RF/EU or their energy. Some items can be transferred into energy such as Redstone = 1000RF and Coal = 500RF. You can see all of these types by clicking on the energy bar with NEI installed.
Most machines can have item import/export automated. The colours of each GUI slot refers to the side of the block which that slot can be accessed from. See the Wrench
