General questions

Can you do a backport to [older-minecraft-version]?

Netherite is a 1.16+ feature, and I will only develop for versions still supported by the mod loader.

Gameplay related questions

How do I craft [insert item from mod]?

  • Option 1: install Just Enough Items (JEI)
  • Option 2: check this page on the wiki

How do I upgrade my gear or tools?

Upgrades are done through the Smithing Table. Upgrading works as follows: Netherite (vanilla MC) > Netherite-Iron > Netherite-Gold > Netherite-Emerald > Netherite-Diamond. The upgrades must go in this order. It is not possible to upgrade directly from vanilla Netherite to Netherite-Diamond, for example. You can find the recipes here or in-game through mods like Just Enough Items.

Where's the config file on Fabric?

Unfortunately the Fabric version of Advanced Netherite does not come with a config file. This is due to the fact that there's no standardised config system on Fabric, unlike with Forge and NeoForge. As of writing there also aren't any config mods available on Fabric that would meet the requirements for Advanced Netherite.

Is it possible to disable one of the armor perks?

Yes, this can be done with a datapack as of version 2.2.0. This includes Fabric as well. Previously, on older versions of the mod, this could be done through the common configuration.

Is it possible to change the item properties?

Not by default. This is a planned feature, however.

Huh?! Why is Netherite-Diamond better than Netherite-Emerald?

Diamond ore may be more common than Emerald ore, but there are other ways to create infinite sources of emeralds making them way more common than you may think. Think about: trading, raids, looting chests, etc. No, I'm not going to change this because you don't like doing any of the above.
