Maximize Visual Quality on Low-End Hardware

Select the Low-End Profile

Zer0's Shaders includes optimized profiles designed for lower-spec machines. Start by selecting the low-end preset from the shader options menu—this balances visual improvements with frame stability.

Reduce Shadow Resolution

Shadow maps consume significant resources. Lower the shadow resolution setting to improve performance while keeping shadows visible. You'll notice softer shadow edges, but the lighting remains realistic.

Disable or Lower Bloom Effects

Bloom around light sources is optional. On low-end systems, reducing bloom intensity or disabling it entirely can free up GPU resources without losing the shader's core shadow improvements.

Limit Render Distance

While not a shader setting, keeping render distance moderate ensures shadows render efficiently. Pair this with the low-end shader profile for smooth gameplay.

Monitor Frame Rate

Use F3 debug screen to watch your FPS while exploring different biomes and times of day. If performance dips below your target, reduce shadow distance further or switch to an even lighter profile.

Verify Lighting Still Works

Even on minimal settings, Zer0's Shaders should still cast shadows and illuminate your world noticeably better than vanilla.
