Adjust Shadow Quality and Performance

Access Shader Settings

Open the Shader Options menu from your Video Settings. Look for the Zer0's Shaders configuration panel—this is where you control shadow detail and performance balance.

Configure Shadow Distance

Shadow distance determines how far shadows render from your character. Lower distances improve performance on medium hardware; higher values create more immersive shadow coverage across your world. Adjust this slider based on your frame rate stability.

Optimize for Your Hardware

The mod includes preset profiles for different PC capabilities. If you experience frame drops, switch to a lower profile or manually reduce shadow resolution. This scales down the shadow map without removing the effect entirely.

Fine-Tune Bloom Intensity

Light source bloom can be adjusted separately from shadows. If bloom feels too intense around torches and lanterns, lower the bloom strength slider. This is useful if you find glowing effects distracting during detailed building work.

Test Your Changes

After adjusting settings, spend time in both day and night cycles to confirm the visual balance feels right. Shadows should remain crisp without causing lag during exploration or combat.
