Prepare Before You Loot

When Dungeons Arise structures are combat-heavy. Before entering, equip full armor, a strong weapon, a shield, and a bow with plenty of arrows. Bring a stack of blocks, a water bucket, torches, and food that restores a lot of hunger, such as cooked beef or golden carrots. Carry a bed so you can set a respawn point near the entrance, but do not place it inside a boss room unless you have cleared the room first.

Clear Rooms in Order

Move through the structure room by room. Light each room with torches before you loot so mobs cannot spawn behind you. Kill all visible mobs before opening chests, because opening a chest can draw attention. Use your shield against melee mobs and keep distance from ranged mobs. If a room has a raised platform or a central altar, expect a boss or a trap; clear the surrounding mobs first, then approach. Loot chests quickly and move on, but do not ignore side passages, as they often contain additional chests. If you find a locked door or a gate that will not open, look for a lever, button, or pressure plate nearby. When your inventory is full, return to your bed, store items in a chest, and come back. Do not fight a boss with a full inventory, because you will lose loot if you die.
