Handling Bosses and Traps in When Dungeons Arise
Boss Fights
Bosses in When Dungeons Arise appear in large, open rooms, often at the end of a structure or behind a gate. Before engaging, clear the room of normal mobs and light it well. Keep moving in a circle around the boss to avoid repeated hits, and use a bow or crossbow for ranged damage when the boss is far away. Switch to a sword or axe when it gets close. Bring golden apples or potions of healing, and use them early rather than waiting until your health is low. If the boss summons minions, kill the minions first or they will overwhelm you. Do not fight in a corner; stay near an exit so you can retreat if needed.
Traps and Hazards
Traps are common in these structures. Watch for pressure plates, tripwire, and dispensers embedded in walls. Before stepping on an unfamiliar floor, place a block in front of you to test it, or break the pressure plate with a pickaxe. If you trigger a trap, move away immediately and place blocks between you and the source. Water buckets can neutralize fire and fall damage. If you fall into a pit, place blocks under yourself as you fall to reduce damage, or use a water bucket at the bottom. Never dig through a wall without checking for lava or a drop on the other side; break one block, look through, then continue.
