Troubleshoot Visual Artifacts and Glitches
Fix Flickering or Unstable Shadows
Flickering shadows often indicate voxel resolution mismatches or raymarching precision issues. Lower the voxel resolution slightly and ensure your shadow render distance isn't set too high relative to your chunk render distance. Restart the game after changing these values.
Resolve Banding or Color Posterization
Voxray's raytracing can sometimes produce banding in gradual light transitions. Increase the shadow quality setting and enable dithering if available in shader options. This adds subtle noise that breaks up visible bands.
Address Missing or Over-Bright Volumetric Effects
If volumetric lighting appears absent or washed out, check that the effect isn't disabled in shader options. Adjust the volumetric intensity slider—it may be set too low. Conversely, if the effect is too intense and washes out detail, reduce the intensity or sample count.
Clear Shader Cache
If visual issues persist after adjusting settings, clear Iris's shader cache (usually in your game folder under .minecraft/shaderpacks). Restart Minecraft to force a fresh compilation of the shader pack.
