Use the Mob Radar to Stay Safe

Understanding the Mob Radar Display

The mob radar is a built-in feature that displays nearby animals and monsters directly on your minimap. Different mob types appear as distinct icons or colors, allowing you to quickly identify threats around you.

Monsters appear in red or warning colors, while passive animals show in neutral tones. The radar updates in real-time as mobs spawn, move, and despawn around your character.

Staying Safe with Radar Information

Check your minimap regularly when exploring or building. If you see monster indicators clustering nearby, prepare for combat or retreat to safety. This is especially useful when mining underground or traveling at night.

The radar helps you locate passive mobs for farming purposes—find sheep, cows, or chickens by watching for their icons. You can also use it to avoid dangerous areas before they become a problem.

Remember that the radar only shows mobs within a certain range. Mobs beyond that range won't appear, so always stay alert even when the radar looks clear. The radar works in all dimensions, including the Nether and End.
