Track Your Exploration Progress with the World Map

How the World Map Records Your Travels

The full world map automatically records every chunk you explore. As you walk, fly, or travel through your world, the map fills in with terrain details, biome colors, and landmarks. Over time, you build a complete picture of your world's geography.

Open the full map view to see all explored areas. Unexplored regions appear blank or in a different color, making it obvious where you haven't been yet. This helps you plan future expeditions and discover new areas.

Using Exploration Data for Planning

Refer to your world map when deciding where to build, farm, or explore next. Identify biomes you haven't visited and plan routes to reach them. The map shows terrain features like mountains, oceans, and valleys, helping you understand your world's layout.

Set waypoints in newly discovered locations to mark them for later. Use the map to find the shortest path between important locations, saving time on travel.

Your exploration data persists as long as you keep the map data files. The more you explore, the more complete your map becomes, giving you an increasingly detailed reference for navigation and planning.
