Optimize Bloom and Light Source Glow

Find Bloom Settings

In the shader configuration menu, locate the bloom, glow, or light emission section. This controls the warm, glowing halos around torches, lanterns, fire, and other light sources.

Adjust Bloom Intensity

Modify bloom strength to control how much light sources glow:

  • Increase bloom for a magical, atmospheric feel—ideal for fantasy bases, nether builds, and nighttime scenes
  • Decrease bloom for a more grounded, realistic appearance
  • Fine-tune radius: Adjust how far the glow extends from each light source

Balance Performance and Visuals

Strong bloom effects are visually striking but can impact framerates, especially when many light sources are visible. Start with moderate bloom and increase gradually until you notice performance drops. Consider reducing bloom slightly in areas with dense lighting (like mob farms or industrial builds).

Test in Different Lighting

Bloom appears most dramatic at night and in dark caves. Visit your builds during evening and in underground areas to see the full effect. Adjust until torches, lanterns, and other decorative lights feel warm and inviting without creating visual noise or washing out details.
