Veylora Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable the shader after installing it?
Open the Options menu in-game, select Video Settings, then Shaders. Find Veylora Shaders in the list and click it to activate. You'll see the cinematic lighting and effects apply immediately.
Why do my shadows look too harsh or too soft?
Open the shader options (usually by clicking the Settings button next to the shader name in Video Settings) and adjust the shadow softness slider. Higher values create softer, more diffused shadows while lower values make them sharper and more defined.
Can I turn off bloom if it's too bright?
Yes, open the shader settings and look for the Bloom or Light Glow option. You can reduce the intensity slider or disable it entirely if you prefer a less luminous look around torches and light sources.
Does this shader work with other visual mods like Optifine or Sodium?
Veylora Shaders is designed to work with shader-compatible loaders. Check the mod's documentation for your specific loader version, as compatibility depends on whether you're using Optifine, Iris, or another shader-supporting mod.
Why is my game lagging when I use this shader?
Veylora Shaders has medium and high quality profiles—try switching to medium in the shader settings if you're on high. Also check your render distance and other graphics settings, as volumetric clouds and shadows are performance-intensive features.
How do I make water look more reflective?
Open the shader settings and find the water reflection or water quality option. Increasing this value will make water surfaces reflect the sky, terrain, and light sources more realistically.
Can I customize how the Nether and End look?
Yes, the shader settings include separate options for Nether and End atmosphere and lighting. You can adjust the color tones, fog density, and sky appearance for each dimension independently.
What's the difference between the shadow quality settings?
Higher shadow quality settings increase the resolution and detail of shadows, making them crisper and more accurate, but they cost more performance. Lower settings use simpler shadows that are faster to render but less detailed.
Why do clouds look different in different biomes?
Veylora Shaders adjusts volumetric cloud density and color based on biome lighting and atmosphere. You can customize cloud appearance globally in the shader settings, but biome-specific effects are part of the cinematic design.
Does this shader affect my FPS much compared to vanilla?
Performance impact depends on your hardware and which features you enable. The medium profile is designed for moderate systems, while high profile targets better hardware—check your FPS in both modes to find your balance.
