Adjust Shadow Quality and Softness

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (usually accessed through your shader mod's settings panel). Look for the Veylora Shaders configuration section.

Configure Shadow Parameters

Locate the shadow-related settings, typically labeled as "Shadow Distance," "Shadow Quality," or "Shadow Softness." These controls determine how far shadows render and how blurred their edges appear.

  • Increase shadow softness for a more cinematic, diffused look—useful for fantasy or atmospheric builds
  • Decrease softness if you want sharper, more defined shadows for technical or modern builds
  • Adjust shadow distance based on your hardware; lower values improve performance while keeping nearby shadows detailed

Test Your Changes

Apply settings and observe shadows cast by trees, structures, and terrain during different times of day. Shadows behave differently under sunlight versus moonlight, so test both. Return to settings and fine-tune until the visual balance matches your preference and maintains playable framerates.

Remember that shadow quality impacts performance more than most other shader features, so balance visual appeal with smooth gameplay.
