Troubleshoot Stars Not Appearing or Looking Wrong

Verify Shader is Active

Confirm True Stars Shaders is selected in your Video Settings under Shaders. The shader name should appear in the active shader display. If it's not listed, reinstall or relaunch the game.

Check Time of Day

Stars only render during night and twilight hours. If you're testing during day or sunrise, you won't see them. Use the /time set night command to quickly jump to night for testing.

Adjust Render Distance

Stars may not appear if your render distance is too low or if sky rendering is disabled. Increase render distance in Video Settings and ensure sky rendering is enabled.

Reset Shader Options

If stars appear wrong—incorrect colors, missing entirely, or flickering excessively—try resetting shader options to defaults. This resolves issues caused by conflicting setting adjustments.

Check for Mod Conflicts

Other mods affecting sky rendering may interfere. Temporarily disable recently added mods to identify conflicts. If performance mods or other shaders are active, test True Stars alone first.

Verify Graphics Driver

Outdated graphics drivers can cause shader rendering issues. Update your GPU drivers and restart the game.
