Finding and Harvesting Giant Ancient Trees
Locating Ancient Trees
Giant ancient trees spawn naturally but rarely in forest and woodland biomes. They're most common in dense, old-growth forest areas. Search at ground level and look upward—these structures tower significantly above standard trees and have distinctive wide canopies that stand out from the landscape.
Harvesting Efficiently
Bring an axe and plan for a tall climb. Ancient trees yield substantially more wood than regular trees due to their size and trunk thickness. Consider building scaffolding or using blocks to create a safe path up the trunk as you harvest. Work from the top down to avoid falling debris blocking your path.
Because these trees are rare, mark their locations on a map or use waypoints so you can return for additional harvesting later. The extra wood output makes them worth the effort to fully process rather than leaving partially harvested trees behind.
Processing Your Harvest
Once felled, sort the logs by type—ancient trees may drop unique wood variants. Convert logs to planks at a crafting table to maximize storage efficiency before transporting back to your base.
