Treevamped Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why do I keep hitting my head on leaves when riding a horse through forests?
You're likely in an area with trees that haven't been affected by Treevamped yet, or you're playing on a world created before installing the mod. Treevamped raises the leaf canopy several blocks higher so you can ride and sprint underneath without obstruction—try exploring new forest areas or creating a new world to see the taller trees.
Where do I find maple trees?
Maple trees generate naturally in compatible forest biomes and are recognizable by their distinctive dark magenta leaves and salmon-colored wood. They're rarer than standard trees, so you may need to explore multiple forest areas to locate them.
How do I get beech wood?
Beech trees spawn naturally in Birch forests and have grey-colored planks with biome-tinted leaves. Harvest them like any other tree to collect beech wood and logs.
What are giant ancient trees and how rare are they?
Giant ancient trees are rare, naturally-generating structures with massive trunks and wide canopies that spawn in forests and woodlands. They're uncommon enough that you'll need to explore significantly to find one, but they yield substantial amounts of wood when harvested.
Do I get more wood from trees with this mod?
Yes, Treevamped increases the amount of wood blocks you harvest from every tree compared to vanilla, helping you gather resources faster for large building projects.
Why are there leaves on the ground everywhere?
Treevamped restricts fallen leaf litter to Dark Forest biomes only, so if you're seeing leaves scattered across other biomes, you may be in a Dark Forest or using another mod that affects leaf generation. In other biomes, the ground should stay clear.
Can I craft decorative blocks from treevamped wood types?
Yes, you can craft decorative logs and planks from all Treevamped wood types including Maple, Beech, and reworked variants. Check your crafting recipes for the new wood blocks available.
Do dark oak and pale oak trees look different now?
Treevamped adds naturally-generating single-trunk Dark Oak and Pale Oak trees that look distinct from their vanilla counterparts and fit better into the landscape.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Treevamped modifies tree generation and foliage rendering but is generally lightweight. If you experience performance drops, try adjusting your render distance or checking for conflicts with other mods that heavily modify world generation.
Do I need to start a new world to see the changes?
For the best experience with all Treevamped features including tall trees and rare structures, a new world is recommended since the mod affects terrain generation. However, you may see some features in newly-generated chunks of existing worlds.
