Create a Custom Path Block Texture

Setting Up Custom Blocks

Trail Paths Plugin lets you define which blocks appear when players walk. To create a custom path texture, you need to configure the plugin's block mapping in the server settings file.

Steps

1. Stop your server and locate the Trail Paths configuration file (usually in the plugins folder).

2. Open the config file and find the block transformation section.

3. Specify the original block type (e.g., grass block) and what it should become (e.g., dirt, coarse dirt, or a custom block).

4. If you want natural-looking paths, use multiple block types with percentages. For example: 70% dirt, 20% coarse dirt, 10% gravel. The plugin will randomly mix these as players walk.

5. Save the configuration file.

6. Restart your server or use /trails reload to apply changes without restarting.

7. Walk across the configured terrain to test your custom path appearance.

Tips

Experiment with block combinations that match your server's terrain. Darker blocks like dark oak wood or blackstone work well for urban paths, while dirt and grass variants suit natural landscapes.
