How to Apply and Remove Modifiers on Tinkers' Construct Tools
Modifiers are added to a tool at the Tool Station or Tool Forge. Place the tool in the station, then place the modifier item in the slot that appears. The station shows which modifiers the tool can currently accept; a tool with no free modifier slots will not accept new ones.
Adding a Modifier
1. Craft or obtain the modifier item.
2. Open the Tool Station or Tool Forge.
3. Put the tool in the tool slot.
4. Put the modifier item in the modifier slot.
5. Take the modified tool out.
If the slot rejects the item, the tool has no free modifier slots or the modifier is not valid for that tool type. Some modifiers consume more than one slot.
Removing a Modifier
Modifiers can be removed at the Tool Station by placing the tool and the appropriate removal item in the slots. Removing a modifier frees the slot again, but the modifier item is consumed and not returned. Plan which modifiers you want before applying them, because slot count is limited and removal costs materials.
Checking Slots
The tool's tooltip lists its current modifiers and remaining free slots. Check this before crafting a modifier so you do not waste materials on one that will not fit.
